Sandy Springs Swaps Market Saturdays for Rink Nights in November

October 29, 2026

How many Saturday mornings at the City Springs farmers market are left this year? As this post goes up on the last Thursday of October, the answer is four. The Sandy Springs Farmers Market lists Oct. 31 and Nov. 7, 14 and 21, each from 8:30 a.m. to noon at 1 Galambos Way, and no December dates are listed.

The produce stalls don't stop all at once, though. Over November the city's gatherings move to City Green. The markets end, the ice rink opens, and for about a week the two run at the same time. That week is when you can fit the most into one Saturday in Sandy Springs this season.

The Night Market Draws From the Saturday Vendor List

The changeover starts at the north end of Roswell Road. The city's new Sandy Springs Night Market is held on the first Thursday of September, October and November, from 5 to 8 p.m. at River Springs Shopping Center, 8610 Roswell Road. Its last 2026 date is Thursday, Nov. 5.

The Night Market is its own event series, and it is tied closely to the Saturday market. On the city's page, vendor spots are limited to approved 2026 Sandy Springs Farmers Market vendors, and the city calls the series a new event it is "currently testing." When it announced the series in August, the city said to expect more than 30 local vendors. Everyone selling on a Thursday evening is drawn from the same approved list as the Saturday market, and the city pitches it as a place to pick up a prepared dinner, seasonal produce or a last-minute hostess gift.

What to know before Nov. 5:

  • Admission is free.
  • The market says it prefers credit cards only.
  • Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome in the plaza and sidewalk areas, but they have to stay away from vendor products. Anything a dog damages has to be bought by its owner.
  • It runs rain or shine unless severe weather forces a cancellation. Weather updates go out on the city's Facebook page.

The city has called this year a test, so the Nov. 5 date is the last listed chance to try the Thursday version in 2026.

Two Saturdays When the Market and the Rink Share City Springs

Skate City Springs opens on City Green on Friday, Nov. 13, and runs through Jan. 18. The farmers market's last listed date is Saturday, Nov. 21. That leaves exactly two Saturdays, Nov. 14 and Nov. 21, when you can shop the market in the morning and skate at the same address later in the day.

Here is the November handoff in order:

Date What's happening Where
Sat., Oct. 31 Farmers Market, 8:30 a.m. to noon City Springs, 1 Galambos Way
Thu., Nov. 5 Night Market, 5 to 8 p.m., last listed 2026 date River Springs Shopping Center, 8610 Roswell Rd.
Sat., Nov. 7 Farmers Market City Springs
Wed., Nov. 11 Veterans Day Tribute, 11:30 a.m., free Byers Theatre
Fri., Nov. 13 Skate City Springs opens City Green
Sat., Nov. 14 Farmers Market and the rink's first Saturday City Springs
Sat., Nov. 21 Last listed Farmers Market, plus A Magical Cirque Christmas City Springs

The market runs rain or shine, which helps when you plan a double Saturday in late November. The farmers market page shows Nov. 21 as the last upcoming date, but no closing announcement has been posted, so check the page closer to the day in case a holiday date is added.

The Rink's New Price Tiers Favor a Weeknight

Once the market stops, the rink becomes the main draw on City Green, and this season it changes how a family might plan a visit. For the first time, Skate City Springs charges different prices by day. Monday through Thursday, admission is $15 for adults and $12 for kids ages 2 to 9. Friday through Sunday, it is $18 for adults and $15 for kids.

That $3-a-head difference adds up. Two adults and two children pay $54 on a Tuesday and $66 on a Saturday for the same one-hour session. Skate rental is included in both prices.

The weekends have more going on, which is where the higher price goes:

  1. Glow Night at 6 p.m. every night, weeknights included.
  2. Disco Slide Nights on Fridays from 6 p.m., with retro music and a DJ calling couples' skates, fast laps and sometimes a limbo.
  3. Themed Saturday nights from 8 to 10 p.m., including K-Pop Vibe, Fright Night, Pajama Party and Intergalactic Skate Party. Skaters who dress up get a free hot cocoa.

Since Glow Night runs every evening, a weeknight session at 6 p.m. gets you the lighting at the lower price. If what you want is the costumes and the DJ, Friday and Saturday are worth the extra.

Some practical details: sessions are timed and last one hour, and the rink asks skaters to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to pick up skates. Online reservations are recommended because capacity is limited. If you plan to walk up, the rink suggests calling (404) 890-6690 first to check availability. Also new this season are group packages for birthdays and group outings, such as a Classic Pizza Package and an All-American Grill package with unlimited hot cocoa. Booking for those is listed as opening soon.

The rink uses real ice. The city's announcement last October described it that way and called the 2025 to 2026 winter the rink's third season, which makes this winter its fourth.

After Nov. 21, City Green Carries the Calendar on Its Own

Once the last market Saturday passes, the district's calendar shifts from outdoor shopping to stage shows and evening events, and the rink stays open the whole time.

A Magical Cirque Christmas plays City Springs on Nov. 21, the same day as the last listed market. Roswell Dance Theatre's The Nutcracker follows from Nov. 27 through Dec. 6.

The final day of The Nutcracker is also the date of Sparkle Sandy Springs, set for Sunday, Dec. 6. The city describes Sparkle as its annual holiday celebration, with an award-winning nighttime parade, larger-than-life inflatables, a food and gift market, and a tree and menorah lighting across the City Springs District. For one night, the food and gift market brings back some of what the Saturday stalls offered, this time after dark and next to a parade. The city hasn't posted the 2026 schedule yet. The Sparkle page says "event schedule coming soon" and notes that details and times may change, so parade start times will come from that page once they're posted.

The rest of December on the City Springs events calendar includes Joe Alterman's Toast & Jam Holiday Jazz Brunch on Sunday, Dec. 13, and two ways to end the year on Dec. 31: a New Year's Eve concert with the Atlanta Symphony and a separate Ring in the New Year party that runs into Jan. 1. The rink stays open past all of it, through Jan. 18.

The Outdoor Spot That Doesn't Change Over

While City Green swaps from market to rink, one outdoor spot across town just reopened and stays the same all year. Morgan Falls Dog Park at 100 Morgan Falls Road held its ribbon-cutting on Oct. 14 after a 3.4-acre renovation that the city says finished ahead of schedule. The Sandy Springs Record reported that the project cost $1.04 million and added separate areas for large and small dogs, along with shade, seating, fountains and a wash station. The city's list also includes picnic tables, waste stations and boulders for dogs to jump on.

The markets end and the rink opens and closes on fixed dates, but the dog park keeps the same routine through the winter. That makes it a good mid-morning stop on the Saturdays after Nov. 21, when the market stalls are gone and the rink's themed nights don't start until evening. And if your dog liked the Night Market crowd, Nov. 5 is its last listed evening this year.

New seasons on City Green are one of the things we enjoy most about this part of metro Atlanta, and we'd love to hear which Saturday you're planning around.
